Abstract

L'invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes de prospection de gisements de pétrole et de gaz souterrains par détection de la présence de microorganismes consommant de l'hydrocarbure dans des échantillons de sol prélevés dans un champ d'intérêt destiné à la production. Un procédé préféré de cette invention consiste à mettre en suspension et à diluer chaque échantillon de sol dans une solution saline minérale, à combiner l'échantillon avec un substrat de croissance sélective tel qu'un alcool ou aldéhyde, et un colorant d'oxidation-réduction dans un tube étanche au gaz, à incuber l'échantillon et à mesurer le changement de couleur du colorant. On peut compter comme avantages de ce système: des résultats obtenus dans des temps courts (24 à 72 heures), l'élimination de positifs faux, des résultats précis notamment lorsque l'on utilise un spectrophotomètre pour mesurer les changements de couleurs, une automatisation avec des systèmes gérés par ordinateur pour le traitement d'échantillons, l'affichage des changements de couleurs ainsi que le calcul et le traçage graphique des résultats des tests.
