Abstract
A plastic strip (1) has a metallic reinforcing layer (2) preferably embedded in its basic body. The lateral edge sections (2a, 2b) project freely from the basic body (1) in such a way that, when the tube is rolled, these sections (2a, 2b) overlap and can, if necessary, be welded or soldered together. The strip is used for the production of so-called roller laminated tubes which possess high strength and improved impermeability to gas.
Description

The present invention relates to a plastic band for the production of pipes in the winding process by connecting the band edges along a helical seam.
It is known to produce plastic tubes in the so-called winding process. The band edges are connected mechanically and / or by gluing or welding along the helical seam.
If special requirements are placed on the strength of the tube formed in this way, a plastic band provided with reinforcing inserts could be used. However, there still remains the disadvantage that a pipe formed in this way is not gas-tight (gas can diffuse through the pipe wall) and the rigidity is not significantly improved.
The object of the present invention is now to design a plastic strip with regard to its use for forming a winding tube in such a way that even with small wall thicknesses there is sufficient strength and, in particular, rigidity and, in addition, gas tightness which is substantially improved compared to conventional plastic tubes can be achieved.
According to the invention, this is achieved in the case of: a plastic tape of the type mentioned in that the tape base body is provided with a reinforcing layer made of a metal sheet, which is exposed at least in each case on the two longitudinal tape edges, so that when the tape is wound Pipe overlap the exposed metal sheet edge parts of abutting band edges and, if necessary, can be welded or soldered to one another. The reinforcing sheet, with the exception of the edge parts on both sides lying in the band closure zone, is preferably embedded in the band base body made of plastic. The reinforcing sheet should preferably protrude or be exposed laterally to such an extent that at least a part of the closure contact surfaces of the band lying in the band plane can be covered with it.
Another possibility is to place the reinforcement sheet directly on a belt surface, e.g. to be arranged on the underside of the plastic band intended to form the inner tube wall, e.g. by sticking.
Das Verstärkungsmetallblatt besteht vorzugsweise aus Aluminium. The reinforcing metal sheet is preferably made of aluminum.
Es zeigt:The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing. It shows:
Fig. 1 einen Querschnitt durch ein erfindungs- gemäss ausgebildetes Kunststoffband,1 shows a cross section through a plastic band designed according to the invention,
Fig. 2 eine Variante des Bandes von Fig. 1, undFig. 2 shows a variant of the band of Fig. 1, and
Fig. 3 und 4weitere Ausführungsformen.3 and 4 further embodiments.
In the drawing (Fig. 1-4) it is shown how a plastic tape 1 with a reinforcing layer 2 in the form e.g. an aluminum sheet or strip is provided, the reinforcement layer 2a, 2b of metal being exposed on both sides of the band 1. In the coiled tube, a left-hand band edge la comes to lie over a right-hand band edge 1b and forms a mechanical closure there (possibly additionally glued or welded) along the helical seam.
This gives a tube wound by means of the tape 1 a higher strength (or the wall thickness can be chosen to be lower with the same or comparable strength). In addition, a tube that is formed is now largely gas-tight.
If necessary, they can be assembled free edge zones 2a, 2b lying on top of one another are still welded or soldered to one another in order to ensure largely perfect gas tightness. The strength is also further improved in this case. The welding can be carried out, for example, by means of ultrasound welding or electric welding. By previously applying a solder strip, the connection can also be made by soldering.
Eine Verschweissung der freiliegenden Ränder 2a, 2b der Verstärkungsschicht erfolgt an den Stellen A,A' (Fig. 1), C,C (Fig. 2), D,Df (Fig. 3) beziehungsweise E,E' (Fig. ).The exposed edges 2a, 2b of the reinforcing layer are welded at the locations A, A '(FIG. 1), C, C (FIG. 2), D, D f (FIG. 3) and E, E' (FIG. ).
In the variant according to FIG. 2, only the laterally exposed zones of the reinforcement layer are led out of the base body of the plastic strip 1 differently.
Finally, in the variant according to FIG. 3, the reinforcement layer 2 is not embedded in the plastic body 1, as in the previous embodiments, but is glued to a band surface.
4, the free areas 2a, 2b of the reinforcement layer 2 lie in the plane of the layer 2 itself. In this variant, welding is particularly easy to carry out.
