Definitions

  • This invention relates to a lifting bogie for load-carrying vehicles, which lifting bogie comprises a bogie axle, two rocking arms rotatably arranged on the bogie axle, to the first ends of which rocking arms spring assemblies of adjacent bogie wheels and to the second ends of which rocking arms the bogie wheels to be lifted/lowered are intended to be fastened, and a power cylinder, which is at its one end fastened to a bearer and at its other end to a swinging arm, which is intended to act on the rocking arms for lifting/low ⁇ ering the bogie. heels.
  • Lifting bogies are very generally used in load- carrying vehicles to control varying loading situations. Efforts were made to develop a more homogeneous struc ⁇ ture from the rather complicated and varying arrange ⁇ ments used in the beginning. The result was a lifting bogie, in which both the bogie axle and the bearer supporting the power cylinder are stationarily fastened to fastening trestles to be fastened to the longitudinal frame beams of the vehicle.
  • a drawback of such a previously known lifting bogie described e.g. in the Finnish Published Specifica- tion 71098 is that it is suitable for a certain frame width of a vehicle only and additionally the manufac ⁇ turing tolerance of the frame width, which can be a few millimetres, causes special problems, for in prac ⁇ tice, there is hardly any allowance with respect to the fastening width.
  • the fastening width of the lifting bogie is defined by a permanent connection between the fastening trestles and the bogie axle on one hand and by a permanent connection between the fastening trestles and the bearer of the power cylinder on the other hand.
  • the intention of the present invention is to provide a lifting bogie by means of which said drawbacks are avoided and which makes it possible to manufacture a lifting bogie as ready for use as possible so that it can by simple means and without difficulty be fas- tened to the frame of a vehicle to form a functional structure.
  • This intention is attained by means of a lifting bogie which is characterized in that the bearer supporting the power cylinder is arranged on the bogie axle and the bogie axle is detachably fastened to two fastening trestles to be arranged on longitudinal frame beams of the vehicle.
  • the basic idea of the lifting bogie according to the invention is that it can, in principle, be ma ⁇ nufactured entirely irrespective of to which vehicle it will be connected. This is easily realized in such a way that the varying frame widths of vehicles, i.e. the distances between the longitudinal frame beams, are made uniform by fastening the bogie axle detachably to the fastening trestles.
  • An adaptation of the lifting bogie to various frame widths is realized by means of an axial allowance for displacement given by the bogie axle.
  • the manufacture of the parts of the lifting bogie can be standardized according to the load-carrying and load-lifting capacity desired.
  • additional problems are not caused for individual vehicles, not even by the sealing of the bogie axle.
  • a considerable advantage is also the easy and guick mounting.
  • fastening trestles both outside and inside the frame.
  • Figure 1 shows the fastening trestles of a lifting bogie arranged on the longitudinal frame beams of a vehicle
  • Figure 2 shows the actual lifting unit
  • Figure 3 shows the lifting bogie connected to the vehicle.
  • Figure 1 shows separate fastening trestles 3 arranged inside longitudinal frame beams 1, 2 of a load-carrying vehicle.
  • the lower ends of the fastening trestles are provided with semi-cylindrical openings, in which a bogie axle 7 of the lifting bogie is intended to be mounted.
  • the fastening trestles are provided with taps 4 directed to the inside of the frame and intended to be placed in recesses 5a of two arms 5 ' of a bearer 5 supporting a power cylinder 6 and shown in Figure 2.
  • the position of the power cylinder is locked with respect to the frame beams of the vehicle.
  • FIG. 2 shows the actual lifting unit.
  • This comprises two rocking arms 8 rotatably arranged at the ends of the bogie axle 7, to the first ends 8a of which rocking arms spring assemblies of adjacent bogie wheels and to the second ends 8b of which rocking arms the bogie wheels to be lifted/lowered are intended to be fastened.
  • It is additionally equipped with a fitting providing a lifting/lowering effect, which fitting comprises a power cylinder 6, which is at its one end mounted in bearings on the two arms 5 ' of the bearer 5, which arms are arranged on the bogie axle 7 in the manner described earlier.
  • One end of the power cylinder is mounted in bearings on a swinging arm 9 rotatably mounted on the bogie axle, the branches 10 of which swinging arm influence the first ends 8a of the rocking arms 8 to move them in such a way that the bogie wheels mounted at the second ends 8b of the rocking arms can be lifted, lowered or locked in their place.
  • a hydraulic cylinder is preferably used as the power cylinder.
  • the fastening of the power cylinder 6 can be preferably adjusted both at the arms 5' of the bearer 5 and at the swinging arm 9, whereby the sinking of the upper posi ⁇ tion of the bogie wheels caused by the fatigue of the spring assembly can be compensated by changing the angular position of the swinging arm 9.
  • the lifting height of the lifting bogie can be preferably adjusted for instance by means of adjustable projections 11 formed at the branches 10 of the swinging arm 9, which projections bear against stop faces 12 formed at the rocking arms.
  • the projections are screw taps provided with rounded ends and the stop faces are shelves with curved surfaces, which taps and stop faces fit together as to the shape.
  • Figure 3 shows a lifting bogie connected to a vehicle.
  • the fastening trestles 3 are for example fas- tened to the longitudinal frame beams of the vehicle by means of bolted joints.
  • the bogie axle 7 with the constructions arranged thereon and described above is suspended from the fastening trestles by means of two U-shaped elements 13 and supporting parts 14 arranged thereon and bearing against the bogie axle, for instance by means of conventional nut screw joints.
  • the distance between the fastening trestles can vary due to a friction joint between the tap-recess-fitting 4, 5a and the fastening trestles 3 and the bogie axle 7, which friction joint gives an axial allowance for ad ⁇ justment, whereby the lifting bogie of the invention can be connected to vehicles with different frame widths.
  • This can, of course, also be realized for in ⁇ stance by lengthening the branch to be fastened to the frame beams 1, 2 of the fastening trestles 3 or in some other corresponding way.
