Definitions
- a device for receiving objects of value A device for receiving objects of value
- This invention relates to a device for receiving objects of value, such as money or valuable documents, from per ⁇ sons delivering these, comprising a receiving apparatus for the objects of value having an opening preferrably closable by means of a cover or the like, through which opening the persons in question can deliver the objects of value.
- Service boxes Devices of this kind, which in every day parlance are called "Service boxes", are installed by banks and the like in conjunction with the respecitve bank office for enabling receiving of money at times when the banks are closed. It concerns in practice generally day's takings from firms, shops or the like. It is desirable for the shop undertakings to be able to daily deliver cash flown in as soon as possible after the closing of the shop in order to reduce the temptation of burglery in the shop.
- a disadvantage of the system described consists in that staff from the respective shops has to move the money from the shop to the service boxes located at the banks. The risk of robbery during this transfer is considerable, which makes this transfer operation mentally very trying.
- the object of the present invention is to show how to solve the problem discussed above.
- this object is obtained by the fact that a receiving apparatus is arranged on a vehicle having an opening which can be made free by a door, that there are means for arranging the receiving apparatus in such a position in the vehicle that the re ⁇ ceiving apparatus is located with its opening accessible through the door opening and that the receiving apparatus, together with possible parts connected therewith. substan ⁇ tially completely fills up the door opening.
- the invention is based on the idea to make the whole receiving device for objects of value mobile so that the vehicle in question can be driven to the shops and on the spot receive the money or receiving day's takings and the like from these.
- This mobile embodiment of the value receiving device results in substantial advantages because the shop staff are not any longer forced to transfer the money over long distances, but they can instead deliver these to the vehicle driving between the shops.
- the risk of robbery is thereby considerably decreased. Further the risk of robbery decreases even more by the fact that the value receiving device is located in a vehicle which all the time changes its- position and is manned by a quali ⁇ fied guarding staff.
- the windows which do not have to be well transparent for traffic security purpose may preferrably be provided with a coating or otherwise cons ⁇ corted so that transparency from the outside and into the interior of the vehicle is made more difficult or impossible.
- Fig 1 is a perspective view of the device according to the invention in a vehicle, the apparatus for receiving valuable objects being located so that it closes an ope ⁇ ning made free by the vehicle door,

- the device according to the invention for receiving ob ⁇ jects of value, such as money or valuable documents, from persons delivering these comprises a receiving apparatus 1 for these valuable objects having an opening 3 closable by means of a cover 2, through which opening the persons in question can deliver the objects of value.
- the receiving apparatus 1 is arranged on a vehicle having an opening 4 which can be made free by a door 5. There are means for arranging the receiving apparatus 1 in such a position
- the vehicle is provided with a frame 6 in connection with the door opening 4, the receiving apparatus 1 adjoins to this frame in the position according to fig 1.
- the receiving apparatus 1 is displaceably movable along guides 7 indicated as rails in fig 2 bet ⁇ ween a first position (fig 1), in which the receiving appa ⁇ ratus substantially closes against access through the door opening and into the interior of the vehicle, and a second position (fig 2), in which the receiving appara ⁇ tus 1 is removed from the door opening and allows access to the interior of the vehicle through the door opening.

- fig 2 a second position
- the receiving appara ⁇ tus 1 is removed from the door opening and allows access to the interior of the vehicle through the door opening.
- the recei ⁇ ving apparatus 1 comprises a keeping container 8 of the type of cabinet, box or the like and this has an opening 9 directed to the interior of the vehicle and closable by means of a door.
- the keeping container 8 is of a type comparatively secure against burglery so that in any case a considerable period of time is necessary for making unauthorized access to the interior of the container pos ⁇ sible.
- the opening 3 of the receiving apparatus 1 is ar ⁇ ranged in that wall of the container 8 which is intended to be located outwardly towards the door opening of the vehicle.
- the receiving apparatus 1 has a transferring means 11 arranged inside the container 8, said means being movable between two positions, namely a first (fig 5), in which a room 12 in the transferring means is in connection with the opening 3 of the receiving apparatus but closed off from the rest of the interior of the container, and a second position (fig 4), in which the room 12 of the trans ⁇ ferring means is in connection with the rest of the in ⁇ terior of the container 8 but closed off from the ope- ning 3.

- the transferring means 11 has the character of a drum which is pivotable about a substantially hori ⁇ zontal axis.
- wall portions, such as the ones denoted by 13, arranged in the container 8 form a cha'nnel inclined inwardly/down ⁇ wardly from the opening 3, through which channel the ob ⁇ jects in question can reach into the room 12 of the drum 11.
- the wall portions 13 are so arranged that a person can only reach into the room 12 of the transferring means 11 from the outside and not into the interior of the rest of the container, when the cover 2 is open.
- the receiving apparatus 1 is coordinated with a delivery apparatus 14 for objects of value, especially change or small coins.
- the delivery apparatus 14 has a movable de ⁇ livery member 15, which is operable in two positions, namely a first (fig 6), in which a room 16 in the deli ⁇ very member is accessible through an opening 17 therein from the interior ot the vehicle but closed off from ac ⁇ cess from the outside of the vehicle, and a second posi ⁇ tion (fig 7), in which the room 16 is accessible from the outside of the vehicle but closed off from the inte ⁇ rior of the vehicle.
- the delivery member 15 is designed as a pivotable drum, which is arranged in a housing 18 having two openings, one of which 19 opens into the interior of the vehicle by the other 20 opens out to the outside of the vehicle.
- the drum 15 is pivotable about a substantially horizontal shaft 21 and the opening 17 of the drum is arranged in the envelope of the drum.
- the shaft 21 of the drum 15 is suspended in the gables
- the part 27 may for example consist of a plate bent into an arc-shape. Accordingly, when the rod 24 is in engagement with one of the bores 28 the handle 23 must be drawn outwardly for releasing the engagement, and when the handle 23 is pivoted the rod 24 thus authomatically snaps into the second of the bores 28 when the rod has arrived straight in front of ' this.
- the housing 18 of the delivery apparatus is attached to a sheet like part 30, which in its turn is attached to a lateral wall of the keeping container 8 in such a way that the front surface of the part 30 turned outwardly will be located in substantially the same plane as the front surface of the container 8 turned outwardly, i.e. the surface which has the cover 2 and the opening 3.
- the sheet like part 30 is preferrably produced from a bullet ⁇ proof material and dimentioned respectively, and it may on the top have a transparent portion 29 also manufac ⁇ tured from a bullet-proof material.
- the keeping container 8 and the part 30 form together a substantially rectan ⁇ gular front surface which in the position according to fig 1 adjoins to an edge portion on the frame 6 attached to the vehicle.
- the vehicle is driven to the customers who wish to deliver money.
- the vehicle is manned by specially trained guarding staff, in practice at least two persons.
- the vehicle reaches a customer one of the persons opens the door 5 and the receiving apparatus 1 then located in the position according to fig 1 will then be free to receive money, which in advance has been put in a suitable packing.
- the person delivering the money unlocks a lock coordinated with the cover 2 and after that he can open the cover 2 to the position according to fig 5 and put the bag 'or the like with the money into the room 12 in the transferring means 11.
- the transferring means 11 When the person then closes the cover 2 the transferring means 11 is automatically brought to the position according to fig 4 so that the money bag falls down into the lower parr of the container 8. If the person wishes to fetch change he can deliver a requisition bill through the opening 17 into the drum 15 of the delivery apparatus 14. A guard located inside the vehicle can then turn the drum 15, so that he can put the required amount of change through the opening 17 then located in the vehicle after seeing the change order and he can then operate the drum 15 so that its opening 17 communicates with the environment outside the vehicle. Thus, the delivery of money as well as the re- ceiving of change can take place without any closer con ⁇ tact between the person from the shop and the person in ⁇ side the vehicle.
- the apparatus 1 and 14 are covered by the door when the door 5 of the vehicle is closed and accordingly it is impossible to recognize from the out ⁇ side of the vehicle that it is a question of a vehicle for transport of valuable objects.
