Abstract
This is a technique by which a body can convert the energy of waves or the like into the purification of water. An initial breakwater bank (a) of the shape indicated by the numeral (1) is provided in the vicinity of the top of a breakwater containing a large number of air gaps to break the waves and aerate the water of the sea or a lake, this water then permeates into the air gaps of the breakwater, thereby increasing the dissolved oxygen inside and outside the breakwater and accelerating the activation of the sea or lake water. In order to enhance the above effects, a final breakwater bank (c) of the shape shown in provided, and a breakwater reservoir (b) is provided between it and the initial breakwater bank (a). As a result, plankton and floating contaminants in the water are eaten or adsorbed by fish, shellfish, and seaweed in the air gaps, thereby removing the contaminants from the water. Floccing of contaminants in the water can be accelerated by the above operation. Since the water zone behind the purifying breakwater is calm, precipitation of contaminants is accelerated, thereby purifying the water. The water thus penetrating such a purification line becomes clean.
