Abstract

Arrangement for a door-leaf (1), preferably intended as a fire-proof door, which is formed of at least two planar sides (1A, 1B) which can be connected to each other, and to a process for producing such an arrangement. The invention enables a door-leaf (1), for example, with large dimensions and consisting of a plurality of different materials to be produced rationally. Each of its two opposing planar sides (1A, 1B) is formed of a plate (1A, 1B) with connecting elements (6, 7) arranged along its edges which co-act with complementary connecting elements (6, 7) on the plate (1B) which forms the other planar side (1B).

Description

An Arrangement for a door-leaf, preferably intended as a fire-proof door, and a Process for producing such an arrangement.
The present invention relates both to an arrangement for a door-leaf, preferably intended as a fire-proof door, which is formed of at least two planar sides which can be connected to each other, and also to a process for producing such an arrangement.
The main aim of the present invention is to produce an arrangement of the kind indicated above which enables door-leaves with large dimensions, for example, to be manufactured rationally, and to make it possible for door-leaves which consist of a plurality of different materials to be produced simply.
This aim is achieved with an arrangement according to the present invention which is characterised essentially in that each of its two opposing planar sides is formed by a plate with connecting elements arranged along its edges which co-act with complementary connecting elements on the plate which forms the other planar side.
The invention is described in the following with reference to the accompanying drawings, on which: Figure 1 shows a cross-section through an arrangement constructed according to the invention,
Figure 2 is a perspective view of a plate comprised in the arrangement, Figure 3 is a section through a door-leaf at a riveting point, Figure 4 is a section through a door-leaf in the assembled state, looking onto one of its short edges, Figure 5 shows a blank which is suitable for the production of a planar plate comprised in a door-leaf, in the developed state, and Figures 6 - 8 show a connecting element comprised in the arrangement, in the effective and ineffective states, respectively.
On the drawings the referance numeral 1 designates a door-leaf and preferably in this case a door-leaf which is suitable for use as a fire-proof door. The said door-leaf 1 is supported by. means of hinges 3 disposed on one of its side edges and on a door frame part 2respectively, these hinges being of a kind which is known per se. The other, opposite side edge of the door-leaf 1 expediently bears a lock device 4, which is adapted to co-act with a second door frame part 5, located some distance from the first door frame part. The door-leaf 1 which is preferably made from a metal material such as steel plate, Dobel plate, aluminium-zinc plate, etc., for instance, is formed in the present example from two face halves 1A and 1B respectively, which are substantially identical, and which are connected to each other to form a door-leaf which is hollow. On the drawings one such face half 1B is shown in its finished state in Figure 2, and may be produced from a metal blank 11 with the shapin shown in Figure 5 when it is in the developed state, this blank 11 being designed to be bent along the dashed lines to produce the final, folded shape shown in Figure 2.
Connecting elements 6, 7 in the form of preferably snap-type elements which engage round and are able to be engaged round 7 respectively, and which are expediently channel-shaped, extending over substantially the entire vertical extent of the door-leaf 1 when the door-leaf 1 is mounted in a frame 2, 5, sre arranged, for example, at the outer end of an edge face 8 which is set at an angle to the planar plates 1A and 1B of the door-leaf, and at one edge 9 of the said plate 1A or 1B, as shown in Figure 2. The said connecting elements 6, 7 are produced, like the edge face 8, preferably at the same time by rolling, while two further edge faces 10 and 11 respective ly, which extend horizontally when the door-leef 1 is in its operating position and which are located adjoining the said vertical edge face 8, are expediently each bent individually. Rivet holes 12 with counter-sinking 13, for example, can be made with a special machine at suit able intervals in the said horizontal edge faces 10, 11 so that they line up exactly opposite complementary rivet holes 12, etc. in another planar door-leaf side 1A or 1B respectively which can be connected to the first door-leaf side. The two connecting elements 6, 7 which can be connected to each other and which are each arranged on their respective planar door-leaf sides 1A, 13, having the cross-section shaping which can be seen in Figures 7 and 8 on the drawings, are designed to be sprung out or pressed in respectively as they are brought together in the direction of the arrow, due to the springing capacity of the material of the planar door-leaf sides 1A and 1B respectively. When the connecting elements 6, 7 are in the connected state, a tongue 61 formed at an angle prevents the gripped-in complementary connecting element 7 from coming out of the groove 611 formed by the connecting element 6 which grips round it, due to the fact that the tongue 6 1 co-acts with a sprung tongue 71 on the said complementary connecting element 7. Two half door-leaf sides 1A, 1B are assembled together by positioning them with their respective planar faces exactly opposite each other so that the edge faces
8, 10, 11 on the respective plates 1A and 1B are pointing towards each other. The end edges 10, 11 on one plate 1A are arranged adjacent to the corresponding edge faces
10,11 on the second sheet 1B as shown in Figure 4, after which the two plates 1A and 1B are moved towards each other as shown in .Figures 7 and 8. The fixing elements 6, 7 on the respective plates 1A, 1B thus engage with each other so that an element 7 is engaged round by the second element 6 on the edge face 8 and the face 9 respectively of the door-leaf 1A, 1B. After this, the horizontal edge faces 10, 11 are fastened together by means of blank rivets 14, for example, which are inserted from the outside of the edge faces 10, 11 through the holes 12 and are then riveted securely so that the edge faces 10, 11 are pressed firmly together. Optionally, the empty space between the two plates 1A, 1B may be filled with any suitable material if this is desired, such as insulation, etc. Naturally, fixing elements other than those described above and shown on the drawings can also be used in an arrangement of the kind indicated above.
The invention is not limited to the embodiment example shown on the drawings and described above, but may be modified within the frame of the following Patent Claims. It is also possible to make the plates of a single door-leaf of different materials, and to use more than two plates to form one door-leaf.
