- This invention relates to a cargo securing device on a platform body and includes, with the platform operatively connected or connectable, anchoring lugs for fastening of securing ropes, which are tightened between the cargo and the anchoring lugs when cargo is being secured.
- U.S. patent 3,722,910 is described a cargo securing device which is flexible in such a way that the anchoring lugs are movable and can be fixed in arbitrary positions along certain paths.
- This securing device includes, on the platform body or along its sides, affixed supporting channels with openings along one side of each channel? and anchoring lugs, each of which by means of a lever shaft is fixed to a locking device which is insertable through the opening of the supporting channel.
- the locking device is arranged so that when a rope is tightened between the cargo and the connecting anchoring lug, the locking device is turned inside the supporting channel by the tension force transferred via the shaft so that the rounded ends of the locking device offer resistance against the two opposite side walls of the supporting channel situated on both sides of the opening of the supporting channel and thus prevent the locking device from moving along the supporting channels.
- a disadvantage with this anchoring device is that the rounded ends of the locking device have a wedge-shaped cross-section, to fit into the corresponding V-shaped groove in the supporting channel. Even if the tension force is moderate there is a risk that the V-shaped grooves are somewhat widened caused by wedge and groove action, which causes a deterioration in locking and a risk that the locking device slides inside the supporting channel.
- the object of the present invention is to achieve an anchoring device which does not suffer from said disadvantage, but achieves a secure locking.
- the supporting channel has a rectangular or square cross-section; the length of the locking device is somewhat bigger than the distance between the two opposite side walls situated on both sides of the opening of the supporting channel; the thickness is somewhat less than the distance between the other two side walls of the supporting channel and the ends of the locking device have different curving radii.

- the opening can divide the side wall 6 so that the cross-section is shaped like a symmetrical C, as shown in fig 2, or be situated near one corner of the cross-section, as shown in fig 1.
- the latter type profile is as said intended for mounting along the sides of the platform body.
- the supporting channel 1 can be screwed or, where appropriated, be welded onto the platform.
- the width of the locking device 5 is somewhat smaller than the width of the opening 7 of the supporting channel 1, its length is somewhat greater than the distance between the two side walls 8, 9 on opposite sides of the opening 7 and its thickness is somewhat smaller than the distance between the two other side walls 6, 10 of the supporting channel 1. As the width of the locking device 5 is somewhat smaller than the width of the opening 7, the locking device can be inserted into the supporting channel 1 and can be easily manually moved along the channel.
