Definitions
- the present invention relates to an apparatus in a load carrier for the carriage and transport of goods, which load carrier displays a wheel-born frame with at least one part which is pivotal to permit the insertion of the framesinto one another. THE STATE OF THE ART/TECHNICAL PROBLEM
- Prior art load carriers are normally made, to a great extent, of steel tubes, steel wires and steel sheeting.
- the sheeting section normally constitutes the load bearing plane of the load carrier, and these are often allowed to fall freely from an upstanding position to a horizontal position in which the plane rests and locks the frame sections in a desired position. Because of the whole or partly free fall of the loading plane, an extremely powerful noise generation occurs and, in general terms, in the handling of load carrie a high level of noise occurs as a result of the impact of the metal parts against each other.
- Prior art load carrier for use within dairies are often designated milk roller pall and are used for packing, storing and transoort of milk cart of substantially the Tetra Brik [R] type.
- a loading plane is disposed in or on the fr-amework in order to be pivotal from a first position in which insertion of the frames in each other is permitted, to a second, substantially horizont position in which at least a portion of the loading plane engages with a portion of the pivotal frame section for locking thereof in a desired position, and at least the edges of the loading plane is, to an essential degree, covered with a sound-damping material, preferably a rubber- like material, and that the engagement portion of the locking plane substantially consists of a sound damping material, preferably a rubber-like material.
- supports or substrate sections disposed between the framework and the loading plane essentially consist of a sound damping material, preferably a rubber-like material.
- the engagement portion and/or support or substrate portions are arranged in a single unit with the covering on the loading plane.
- a lock is provided for maintaining the loading plane in the first position, and is covered with a sound damping material, preferably a rubber-like material.
- the lock is pivotally disposed in the locking plane by means of a hinge device, at least one of the hinge portions consisting of a sound damping material, preferably a rubber like material.

- Fig. 16 is a left-hand view of Fig. 15.
- the roller pallet shown in Figs. 1-7 has a rear wall 1, to which there are pivotally mounted two side walls 2 and 3.
- the one side wall 3 displays a front gate 4a which is pivotally mounted on the side wall 3 in order to be pivotal from the position shown by means of solid lines in Fig. 5 to the position shown by means of dotdash lines.
- the rear wall 1 is mounted on a mounting beam or mounting plate 4 which, on its underface, displays two fixed wheels 5 and 6.
- the plate 4 displays upwardly bent parts 8 for cooperation with locks 9 on the side-walls 2 and 3 .
- the locks 9 determine that angle in which the side walls 2 and 3 are outwardly pivotal and, in Fig, 6, the angle is 19o.
- a bottom plate 10 is pivotally journaled, this being pivotal from the position shown in Fig. 6 to the positionshown in Fig. 2.
- the base plate 10 mounts a lock 11 which cooperates with an upwardly bent portion 12 on the mounting plate 4 for retention of the base plate 10 in the position shown in Fig. 6.
- the side walls 2 and 3 are each provided with their wheel mounting plate 13 and 14, respectively, which, on their underside, are provided with a pivotal wheel 15 and 16, respectively.
- the engagement portion 18 is shown in graater detail in- Figs.
- Fig. 13 there is shown a slightly modified form of the wheel mounting plates 13 and 14.
- the locks 19 have, furthermore, a slightly different form from that shown in Fig. 6.
- the mounting plate 4 is modified and adapted to the base plate 10 which is shown in greater detail in Figs. 10-12.
- the base plate illustrated in Figs. 10-12 is constructted from a sheet metal base 20, which, at one short side, has a tube 21 for forming a portion of a hinge device.
- the base 20 On the underside, the base 20 has, moreover, a rigidification profile 22 which, furthermore, is intended to cooperate with the wheel mounting plate 13 and 14 on handling of the roller pallet on a roller conveyor.
- the view of the base plate shown in Fig. 10 shows the base plate from its underside.
- the rigidification profile 22 will terminate on the same level as the wheel mounting plates 13 and 14 when the engagement portions 18 have been inserted into the holes 17 in the wheel mounting plates.
- the roller pallet can be handled on a roller conveyor without the need of any mechanical lock for retention of the base plate 10 in its lowered, horizontal position, since the rollers in the roller conveyor will be influenced both by the wheel mounting plates 13 and 14 and the rigidification profile 22.
- the plate 20 is covered with a sound damping material 23, as is more clearly apparent from Fig. 11 and 12.
- the plate 20 is provided with the greater portion of this material 23 on the upper side where the covering material 23 is moreover provided with grooves 24 for, on the one hand, allowing the run-off of water, and, on the other hand, for material saving.
- the engagement portion 18 consists, according to Figs.
- a buffer-like portion which is manufactured of a sound damping material of the same type as the base plate 20 is coated with and, preferably , the buffer portion 18 is integrally provided with the coating portion 23.
- the hinge device tube 21 is coated with rubber, as is illustrated in Fig. 12 to the left.
- a hinge portion 25 which is manufactured of a sound damping material.
- a lock 11 is mounted in the hinge portion 25, this lock being shown in greater detail in Figs. 15 and 16.
- the lock 11 is also provided with a coating material 28 which consists of a sound damping material, preferably, rubber. It should here be observed that all of the sound damping material consists preferably of rubber.
- the base plate 10 is pivotally anchored in the side posts on the rear wall 1.
- the hinge means comprises a pin 29 in each side of the tube 21, a spring 30 being disposed between the pin 29 for urging the pin 29 through each hole in the side posts such that the pins 29 abut against the outer wall on the side posts.
- Fig. 14 also shows how the lock 11 cooperates with the upwardly bent portion 12 on the mounting plate 4 for retention of the bottom 10 in the illustrated, upwardly directed position which it assumes in Figs. 6 and 7.
- the sound damping is substantially attained in that as good as no metal parts come into contact with each other apart from by the intermediary of the sound damping coating material.
- the engagement portion or buffer 18 consists of two cylindrical parts and a frusto-conical portion.
- the one cylinder rests against the underside of the sheet metal base 20 and is in communication with the material 23 on the upper side by the intermediary of a hole, preferably a circular hole of a diameter of 15mm.
- the height of this cylinder is selected such that its underside rests on the wheel mounting plate 13, 14, whereas the other cylinder and the frusto-conical portion dispersed thereon extend into the hole 17.
- the two latter portions on the buffer 18 also serve for guiding the wheel mounting plate and the wall into the correct position.
- Fig. 17 is a schematic view from beneath of a base plane according to a further embodiment of the present invention for a roller pallet of the type illustrated in Figs. 1 to 9.
