Se dan a conocer polipéptidos pesticidas novedosos que son activos contra plagas de insectos lepidópteros. También se proporcionan moléculas de ácido nucleico que codifican 5 las novedosas proteínas insecticidas. Las secuencias de nucleótidos que codifican los polipéptidos pesticidas pueden usarse para transformar organismos procariotas y eucariotas para expresar las proteínas insecticidas. También se divulgan métodos para producir las proteínas insecticidas y 10 métodos de uso de las proteínas insecticidas, por ejemplo, en plantas transgénicas, para conferir protección frente al daño por insectos.
