Abstract

La invención se refiere a un método para reducir la carga de fósforo en el efluente de un proceso de producción de pasta, cuyo proceso comprende los pasos de: a) digerir material lignocelulósico para formar pasta cocida, b) lavar la pasta, y c) blanquear la pasta en condiciones ácidas, donde digerir el material lignocelulósico en el paso a) se lleva a cabo en presencia de al menos un agente quelante para evitar la formación de sal insoluble que contiene calcio y/o magne-sio y fósforo.
