DESIGN FOR COLLAR-BOX.

Specification forming part of Design No. 6,791, dated August 5, 1873; application lrd April 12, 1873.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ROBERT W. BETTS, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Oollar-Box, of which the following is a specifica.- tion:

The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying drawing, to which reference is made.

Figure 1 is the top of the box. Fig. 2- is a cross-section of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a view of the border magnified.

Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.

This design consists of a stamped embossed border, A, around the rim of the cover of a collar-box made of paper. This rim or border A is pressed or stamped between dies, and is somewhat raised from the plane of the top1 and is ornamented or embossed with a. continuous row of dots or other ornamental figures. As seen in the Fig. 3, the border forms a molding with a raised center, C, and a slight depression on each side of it.

I do not confine myself to this particular style of embossing, nor to the particular width of border shown.

I claim as my invention- A moldin g having a. raised embossed een ter and a depression on each side, applied to form a new design for the border of a collar-box.
