DESIGN FOR TONGS FOR COALS, &c.

Specification forming part of Design No. 5,348, dated November 7, 1871.,

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN A. ERVIEN, of the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and original Design for a Pair of Tongs, of which the following is a specification:

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective View of a pair of tongs made in accord ance with my design, and Figs. 2 and 3 enlarged views of one of the feet or enlargements at the lower end of the same.

The legs A A of the tongs are perfectly straight and plain, and are united together at the top by a spring connection, B, which enables the enlargement or feet G U at the lower ends of the said legs to be brought together or spread apart from each other. The feet 0 G are each made of a scribing witnesses.
