DESIGN FOR A STEAM-ENGINE CYLINDER AND FRAME.
Specification forming part of Design No. 5,324, dated October 24, 1871.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, JAMES R. MAXWELL, of Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, and EZRA COPE, of (Jovington, in the county of Kenton and State of Kentucky, have invented or produced a. new and original Design for e Steam-Engine Cylinder and Frznne, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of our design is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustration, to which reference is made.
Arepresents the body of a. steam or pump-cylinder surmounted by the base of the steznnchest; B B, cross-head guides extending from the cylinder, and curved transversely to their length; 0, a circular flange, forming the end of the crossheed guides; D, ztweb extending from the steamchest to the flange U; E, it flanged web extending in line with the cylinder and guides, curved in shapes and sweeps to form one foot or support under the flange U, and biiureated to form two feet or supports at the opposite ends of the structure, with upwurd-divcrgiug counter curves terminating in jom'nul-bezn'ings F F.
