'Be it known that I GEORGE FRANCIS TOPLIFF,
ot' Boston, in the county o' Suffolk and Stute of Massachusetts, have invented certain Improvements in'Design for Mail-Boxes7 of whieh the tollowing, is n specification:

The present invention relates to eertuiu new and useful improvements in the design of nmilboxes for private use; and consists in n` box, a a a, for receiving` letters, &e., with one of its sides fl'nmed'into two qnnrter-rouinl curves, b b e e, joined at their intersection by n bend, d, and its bottoni shaped with n curve, e c, formed by two ares of u eirele, and finished with n illet,f, und n torus or pnrtinl bead, g. The top of' the box a (l` a is arranged with n movable sloping lid, 11, the edge i of which is rounded so as to iit over the curve b b. Above and beek of the lid It the top i of the box a a a is ot' an ogee-shnpe, iinished with u torus or purtiul bend, l, between two fillets, m n. The top ot' the box slopes from the bend (I brick to the fillet m in the shape of nn og'ee, o, and the edge p ot' the torus I is rounded like its front. The bottoni portion ot' the eurve e c slopes buck from the bend I to the fillet jf, which eonneets it with the torus g, the end of the latter being rounded like its fuee.
