To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. GRIFFITHS, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced new and original Designs for n Clock-Front, of which the following is u specification:

The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustrations, consisting of the designs emblematic of the order of the Knights of Pythias, to which reference is made.

A represents a shield surmounted by a helmet, B. The shield contains the initial letters K. I. The shield is surrounded by the crossed swords and spears. To the right are the crossed keys, and to the left the crossed gavels. 0 represents the dial, to the right of which is represented the Holy Bible D, open at the twentieth chapter of Sa-muelthe c0venant-upon which is. represented a sprig ofmyrtlo; to the left are represent ed a skull and crossbones, E. Below the dial are the initial letters l C. B. Imnu-dintcly below these are the crossed battle-axes F. S is the pendulum to the right of which are represented the crossed crooks Ur and to tho lvl't the crossed pens H, the whole surrounded by the scroll-border M.

VVhnt I claim as my design, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The design for a clock-front, substantially as shown by the accompanying photographs.
