DESIGN FOR A GROUP OF STATUES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 5,127, dated July 18, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I7 HANS CHRISTIAN Bmx, of Copenhagen, in the county of Copenhagen and in the State and Kingdom ofBenmark, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Designs; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing which is a true representation of my design.
The nature of my design consists in a group of Statuary representing the single statues of our Savior Jesus Christ and His twelve apostles, by the celebrated sculptor Thorwaldsen, which group is cast in calipasta, plaster of Paris, or any other suitable substance, with a suitable background, and made of convenient size to be placed in drawing-rooms, libraries, 8vo. The annexed photographic illustration fully represents the design, in which our Savior Jesus Christ forms the central ligure, surrounded by the apostles. The background is composed of a vine., with its leaves and bunches of grapes, and is provided with a niche for each ofthe figures.
The group should be inclosed in a suitable frame and covered with glass to keep it free of dust.
Having thus described my improved design, what I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent for a terni of seven years, 1s-
1. The herein-described group of Statuary, representing our Savior Jesus Christ and His twelve apostles, arranged as shown.
2. The above group of Statuary, with a background represent-ing a vine with its leaves and bunches of grapes surroundin g the niches in which each individual figure is placed, substantially as shown.
