UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES W. H. KOSTENBADER, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIG-NOR TO FRIEDBERGER-AARON MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENN- SYLVANIA, A CORPORATION OF PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A BORDER FOR LACE EDGING.
Specification for Design.
Patented June 1914.
Application filed February 25, 1914. Serial No. 821,011. Term of patent 7 years.
T 0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, CHARLES W. H. Kos- TENBADER, a citizen of the United States, residing in Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new, original and ornamental Design for a Border for Lace Edging, of which the following is a specification, reference be ing had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part thereof.
In lace edgings, particularly that Variety thereof applied to ladies underwear, the same usually consists: first, of the body of the edging forming the braiding space, of which there are a limited number of commonly employed designs; and second, of an ornamental knitted tip or border, attached to the body along one longitudinal edge thereof, said ornamental tip or border embodying, in different edgings, a variety of designs. A fabric exhibiting my new design is intended for use as such ornamental tip or border, although the same is adapted to be used independently of an edging body.
Figure 1 is a plan view of a number of repeats of such an ornamental tip or border embodying my new design. Fig. 2 is a similar view enlarged.
I claim The ornamental design for a border for lace edging, as shown and described.
In testimony of which invention, I have hereunto set my hand, at Philadelphia, on this 24th day of February, 1914.
CHARLES W. H. KOSTENBADER.
