DESIGN FOR A PLATE OR SIMILAR ARTICLE.

Be it known that I, GEORGE O. THIESEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Jersey City, Hudson county, State of New Jer sey, have invented and produceda new, original, and ornamental Design for Plates or Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accom panying drawings,forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a plan View of a plate, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section thereof.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of a leafy eifect and a representation of a lobster, both upon an approximately circular shallow surface. The leafy effect is produced by a number of representations at of lettuceleaves, which are ribbed and fluted for representing .veins and to represent the wrinkles, creases, or folds of the natural leaf. The representation I) of a lobster is spread upon the leaves a, which are upon the entire upper surface of the plate or saucer, the representation of the lobster being so disposed at one side of the plate or saucer that the edge thereof juts out at the edge of the plate or saucer, and one of the claws does likewise.
The rim 0 of the dish has the irregular wavy outline of the edges of the leaves.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The ornamental design for a plate or similar article, substantially as. shown and described.
