UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CLARENCE E. VAN AUKEN, OF NElV YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR AN AIR-VENT FOR RADIATORS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,218, dated October 22, 1901.
Application filed July 6, 1901. Serial No. 671372- Ter'm of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CLARENCE E. VAN AU- KEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for an Air- Vent for Radiators, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showingapart thereof.
Figure l is a perspective View of an air-vent exhibiting my design, and Fig. 2 is a horizontal cross-section thereof on line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
The leading feature of my design consists in an air-vent for radiators having a shell or case provided with a plurality of plane surfaces arranged at an angle to each other, so as to form between them edges or ridges, which extend lengthwise of the body of the vent. As shown in the drawings, the body a has plane portions 1) extending lengthwise thereof and forming at their meeting lines longitudinal edges or ridges c, which are disposed at regular intervals around the circumference of said body at the main or center portion thereof. The top of the body has a spherical contracted portion d, above which is a cylindrical portion e, terminating in a hemispher ical ribbed cap f. The lower portion g of the body is cylindrical and has adjacent to it an inverted conical portion h, and below this a smaller cylindrical portion 2'. At one side of the lower portion of the body is a projection j, provided with a screw-thread k, and from this extends forward and downward a curved tube Z.
I claim as my invention- The design for an air-vent for radiators, substantially as shown and described.
