SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,782, dated December 25, 1900.

Application filed December 3, 1900. Serial No. 38,574. Term of patent 14: years.

Q Be it known that We, CHARLES H. MER- ARTH, of South Bethlehem, and FREDERICK CONLIN, of Bethlehem, in the county of Northampton, and in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Gasket or Packing for the Joints of Pipes or other Apparatus; and We do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a plan View of a gasket or packing, showing our new design; and Fig. 2 is a cross-section of the same.

Letters of like name and kind refer to like parts in both figures.

The object of our invention is to provide a design for gaskets or packing for the joints of pipe or other apparatus; and to this end joints of pipe or other apparatus, substan-' tially as and for the purpose described.
