DESIGN FOR A GASKET OR PACKING FOR JOINTS OF PlPE OR OTHER APPARATUS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,697, dated May 22, 1900.
Application filed April 23, 1900. Serial NO- 141,046. Term of patent 14 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, CHARLES HOWARD MERWARTH and FREDERICK CONLIN, of Bethlehem, in the county of Northampton, and in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and original Design for a Gasket or Packing for the Joints of Pipes or other Apparatus; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accom panying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a plan view of a gasket or packing, showing our new design; and Fig. 2 is a cross-section of the same.
Letters of like name and kind refer to like parts in each of the figures.
The object of our invention is to provide a design for gaskets or packing for the joints of pipes or other apparatus; and to this end said invention consists in the design for a gasket or packing substantially as herein shown and described.
The leading feature of our design consists in the shape or configuration, which coinprises an inner ring A, an outer ring B, and attached wires G and C, which have their ends extending free.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim is- The design for a gasket or packing for the joints of pipe or other apparatus, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony that we claim the foregoing we have hereunto set our hands this 7th day of April, 1900.
