Application filed Jan. 6, 1900) UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE \V. EDDY, OF \VATERBURY, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE SCOVILL MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR AN AIR-PUMP BODY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,931, dated July 10, 1900.
Application filed January 6, 1900. Serial No. 625. Term of patent 7 years.
""0 all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE W. EDDY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Water bury, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Air- Pump Bodies, of which the following is afnll, clear, and exact description.
This design relates to that class of airpumps which are specially designed for use in the inflation of the pneumatic tires of bicycles.
The invention comprehends what, for lack of a better term, I designate a pum p-body, including a barrel or cylinder, an end cap, a stirrup, a foot hold or rest, and a rigid tube projecting from the cap end of the barrel or cylinder in advance of the stirrup and in line with the opening in the stirrup.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof and illustrating my design, and in the several figures of which like parts are similarly designated, Figure l is a perspec tive view. Fig. 2 is a side elevation, and Fig. 3 is atop plan view.
In the aforesaid drawings, (t is the pump barrel or cylinder.
1) is the end cap.
0 is the stirrup, and (I is the foothold or tread.
c is a discharge-tube which projects forwardly from the cap I) and at right angles to the stirrup, as shown more especially in Figs. 2 and 3, and this tube projecting in the direction set forth constitutes the leading or material feature of my design.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for an air-pump body, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 4th day of January, A. D 1900.
GEORGE W. EDDY.
