DESlGN.
BODY FUR SEWER TBAPS.
(Application filed Feb. 28, 1900.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OEEICE.
PATRICK J. MADDEN, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A BODY FOR SEWER-TRAPS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,451, dated April 3, 1900.
Application filed February 23, 1900- Sorial No. 6.311- Term of patent 7 years.
To (til whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, PATRICK J. MADDEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Body of a Sewer-Trap, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which are made a part'hereof, and in which- Figure 1 is an elevation of a sewer-trap of the new design. Fig. 2 is a section thereof on the line 2 2, Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a section thereof on the line 3 3, Fig. 2.
The leading essential features of the new design are a hollow oblate ovoidal part A, which forms the shell or casing for the valve, a tubular stub B, proceeding from one side of the shell A, a double elbow 0, one end of which joins one end of the shell A, and a tubular portion D, one end of which joins the other end of the elbow, the parts being shaped and arranged substantially as shown in the drawings.
A minor feature of the design is an enlargement-b on one side of the stub B at its juncture with the shell A.
Another minor feature of the design is a substantially-cylindrical part (1 at that end of the shell A which joins the elbow C, said cylindrical part being united to the elbow by a gradua1ly-contracted part a, the outer surfaces of the parts a u and the elbow merging with each other upon curved lines.
Another minor feature of the invention is a shoulder c at the juuctu re of the elbow C and tube D, said shoulder being the result of making the part D of less diameter than the part (1.
\Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for the body of a sewer-trap substantially as herein shown and described.
PATRICK J. MADDEN.
