DESIGN FOR A BLOCK-FOR SCRUBBlNG-BRUSHES AND DRIERS.

Be it known that 1, PAUL RUSSELL CUM- MING, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and useful Design for Blocks for Scrubbing- Brushes and Driers, of which the following is a specification.

My design is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a block for a scrubbing-brush and drier embodying my invention, and Fig. 2 is an end elevation thereof.

The leading feature of my design consists of a generally oblong block having in end elevation the shape of an irregular pentagon, two opposite sides of which have curved portions and one face of which hasa rectangular 2o notch therein and stands at a right angle to one of the sides and at an oblique angle to the other sides.

Referring now to the drawings and with reference to the position of the block as it is z 5 illustrated, the block consists of the body portion A, having squared parallel ends and five sides extending between the five sides connecting said ends. The lower side B in the position of the block shown in the drawings is horizontal. The upper side 0 is oblique to the lower side and somewhat longer than said side, while the front side D is vertical and merges into the upper side on a curved line. There are two other sides which together make up the rear side of the block, one of them, E, extending substantially at right angles to the oblique side G and the other side, F, having one straight portion substantially parallel with the side 0 and another straight portion substantially parallel with the front side D, 0 said straight portions being connected by a curved portion of a length about equal to each of the straight portions. The side E is given a bifurcated appearance by having the rec tangular groove G formed therein throughout its length.

The oblong block with the irregular pentagoual shape in cross-section shown in the drawings gives to the block a characteristic and distinguishing appearance.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The design for a block forascrubbing-brush and drier, substantially as herein shown and described.
