UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN POST, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR AN ELECTROMOTOR-CASING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,898, dated November 28, 1899.
Application filed October 30, 1899. Serial No. 735,321. Term of patent 7 years.
To all/whom it nmg concern;
Be it known that 1, JOHN POST, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the countyof New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for an Electric-Motor Casing; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
The drawing is a perspective view of my design, which in its general aspect is that of an irregular prolate spheroid.
The letterA indicates the cylindrical body of the design, and B B the end pieces or caps thereon. On the body A are vertical perforated hangers C 0, having a spreading base 0, and D D are lugs projecting laterally from the body. These hangers and lugs are in pairs, the members of which are isometrical and stand at right angles to the major axis of the casing and with their broader surfaces facing toward the ends of the casing. b b are raised bands on the body at its places of contact with the caps. On the convex edges of these caps are disposed the bosses E E. g is a circular convex projection on the cap 13 and concentric with it, and h is a central cylindrical projection on the part 9. A vertically-flattened quadrangular box L on the broad face of the cap B stands at a right angle to the minor axis of the body A and overhangs the projections g and h on said cap. The cap B has a central elongated projection h, similar to the one marked h at the other end of the casing.
Having described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s-
The design for an electric-motor casingsubstantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
JOHN POST.
