SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,040, dated June 20, 1899. Application filed May 22, 1899. Serial No. 717.852. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CLAUDE I). JACKSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Amarillo, in the county of Potter and State of Texas, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bridle-Bits; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such aswill enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a plan of a bridle-bit of my novel design, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same on an enlarged scale.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my newly-designed bridlebit consists in the checks, which are circular at one side of the month portion and at the opposite side are turned to one side of lines drawn through centers of the circular portions and ends of the mouth portions, the
turned parts being enlarged in curved lines toward the extremities.
In said drawings, (t indicates the mouth portion of the bridle-bit, and b I) the cheek portions. Atone side of each end a. of the mouth portion the cheek portion b thereat is circular, as at c, and at the opposite side of said month end portion the cheek portion curves to one side of a line (i, drawn through the centers of the circular part c and end a of the mouth portion, as at c, the outlines of the turned part 6 being curved and said turned part being enlarged, as at e, near its projecting extremity.
What I claim as new is- The design for a bridle-bit as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 15th day of April, 1899.
