Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THEADORE A. W'ILLARD, OF CLEVELAND, OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO SIPE & SIGLER, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A STORAGE-BATTERY ELECTRODE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,687, dated May 2, 1899.
Application iilerl March 22,1899. Serial No. 710,098. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that L'IHEADORE AVILLARD, n. citizen ot' the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design in Storage-Battery Electrodes, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The single ligure of the drawing shows a perspective elevation of my new design in batteryelectrodes, theleading or xnaterialfeature of which is seen most clearly from a point of view which comprises the edge of the electrode in conjunction with a face elevation, wherein the marked peculiarities of the edge are carried forward to completeness, as in the present drawing. As thus viewed, the design discloses a succession of inwardly-inclined lines 3, giving the appearance of a shelf-like elevation foreach leaf l5, and the said leaf formations or features 13 all alike run in downwardly-inclined lines to an unbroken center A. All the outlined features B uniformly have smooth top and bottom surfaces 3 and 4, respectively, and are further marked and distinguished by undercut bevel edges 5, lying parallel to the inclined side lines 2. This produces in each leaf a chisel-shaped edge, and by reason of all the leaves on a given side being exposed to the eye the aggregate effect is such as to make any given view of the electrode exceptional and novel in appearance.
The design for a storage-battery electrode, as herein shown and described.
\Vitness my hand to the foregoing specification this 12th day of January, 1899.
THEADORE A. WILLARD.
ll'itnesses:
II. E. ML'DRA, R. B. Moena.
