Application filed March 26, 1898. Serial No. 675,193. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whmn it 11mg concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK W. LAW, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and original Design for Gas-Burners, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, in which Figure 1 is a face view or front elevation of a gas-burner embodying my design, and Fig. 2 is a cross-section thereof.
The leading feature of my design consists in a gas-burner having a face-plate with rows of perforations therein extending across the face-plate in semicircles. Each end of the semicircles in the rows meets in the center of the semicircles of the next row to form rows of spaces which are filled with woolly fiber.
As shown in the drawings, a represents the face-plate of the burner, having a series of perforations b therein. These perforations l) are formed in semicircles e,extending across the face-plate a to form rows 1?, and each one of the rows (1 is adapted to break joint with each other. The vertical center line of each one of the semicircles c in the rows :1 meets the ends of the seinicirclcse of the next rows (I, so as to form rows of spaces e, having semicircular tops f and pointed lower ends g, formed by the quarto-circles h 01." the next rows (Z. \Voolly fiber 2' is inserted on each one of the spaces 6.
