ALMA H. ANDERSON, OF INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA, ASSIGNOR TO THE SPECIALTY MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR POSTAL MARKING AND CANCELING STAMPS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,645, dated May 17, 1898.
Application filed December 3, 1897. Serial No. 660,708. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern,-
Be it known that I, ALMA II. ANDERSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Indianapolis, in the county of Marion and State of Indiana, have invented a certain new and useful Design for a Handle for Postal Marking and Canceling Stamps, of which the following is a specification.
Figure l is a View in perspective of a handle, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is a plan View of same.
Referring to the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of the rounded portion A, havinga ferrule a, and a thin fiat bladelike extension B, projecting from the ferruled end of the handle. The part B tapers slightly toward its outer end and terminates with the head G, which stands in a plane parallel with the handle, but below it, because of the downward bend D from the body of the part B and the forward bend E. The peculiar shape of the part B, resulting from the bends D and E, constitutes the important and essential feature of my design Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure byLetters Patent, is-
.lhe design for the handle of a postal marking and canceling stamp, as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, at Indianapolis, Indiana, this 20th day of November, A. D. 1897.
ALMA II. ANDERSON.
