a I TTORHEI' UNITED STATES PATENT OEEIcE.
CELIA KOl-ILMAN, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESlGN FOR A WAIST-BELT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,450, dated April 5, 1898. Application filed December 9, 1897. Serial No. 661,323. Term of patent 14 years.
T on whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CELIA KOHLMAN, acitizen of the United States, residing in New York city, county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a WVaist-Belt, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a new and original design for waist-belts; and it consists in the disposition and configuration of the parts hereinafter described and shown.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing, which is a perspective view of a waist-belt embodying my invention.
The leading feature of my design consists in a waist-belt having a series of puff-like protuberances upon its external surface, located at distances apart, and a fastening at the separated portions of the belt, the main body portion of the belt being rectangular, provided with a Hat face, and having a series of slots or apertures forming cross-bars that lie between the upper and lower straight edges of the belt, between which bars the material forming the pufis is located.
In the accompanying drawing the letter A indicates the main body of a belt, which is rectangular, having a Hat face and straight upper and lower edges and provided with a series of slots or apertures B, arranged in pairs, and between these pairs of slots are cross-bars C.
D is a strip of material that is threaded through the slots or apertures B, showing partly on the outer and partlyon the inner surface of the belt A, the portion D of which strip, that lies on the exterior of the belt between cross-bars C, being arranged in the form of puffs, that project outwardly beyond the fiat face of the belt. Thus the exterior of the belt has the appearance of a plurality of puffs in the form of protuberances on the surface thereof. The belt is separate at one part and is there provided with a fastening E.
I claim- The design for a waist-belt, substantially as shown and described.
CELIA KOHLMAN.
