EDWARD WESTON, OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR AN INDEX NEEDLE OR HAND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,393, dated March 22, 1898. Application filed January 10, 1898. Serial No. 666,256. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern-.-
Be it known that I, EDWARD WESTON, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Index Needles or Hands, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a plan View of an index needle or hand, showing my design; and Fig. 2 is a side elevational view thereof as seen looking at Fig. 1 from left to right.
The leading or characteristic feature of my design comprises an index-needle of cross-like conformation or shape at apoint intermediate its opposite ends and having enlargements of the conformation, as shown.
Referring to' the drawings for a full and clear understanding of the essential characteristics or features of, my design, T and R represent the body part of the needle 0f tubular form, but flattened at one end, as shown at P. At a point intermediate the parts T and R the needle assumes a cross-like form or shape, with lateral arms a a, 0' representing the body part of the cross, and H an opening therein.
