DIS-143. OR 028,160 EX DESlGN.
R. H. POSTLETHWAITE.
BEARING BRACKET.
No. 28,160. Patented Jan. 11, 1898.
29mm. Swag/tow. I 1?. 46% Q L- W UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ROBERT II. IOS'ILETIIWAITE, OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, ASSIGNOR TO THE RISDOX IRON AND LOOOMOTIVE \VORKS, OF SAME PLACE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,160, dated January 1 1, 1898.
Application filed December 6, 1897. Serial No. 660,976. Term of patent 14 years,
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ROBERT H. POSTLE- 'IHWAITE, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residingin the city and county of San 5 Francisco, State of California, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Bearing-Bracket, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the annexed drawing, showing the design in outline.
re The bracket consists of a V-shaped frame B, which is united to a face or wall plate B. This face or wall plate is cast with a fo rwardl yextending shoulder 13*, from which inwardly projects a flange C. The V-shaped frame is I5 divided by the central horizontal plate C, so as to form a double triangular frame, each being provided with a strengthening-plate 0 The face or wall plate 13 and the forwardlyprojecting shoulder B have cast therewith the bearing-box D, while at the apex of the V-shaped frame is formed the bearing-box D. Bearing-boxes D and I) are arranged parallel and in the same horizontal plane and each is provided with a longitudinal shaft-openin g a.
In the face or wall plate are formed the boltholes a through which the fastening-bolts extend. The edge of the projecting shoulder 13 gradually curves outwardly from the point 1 of the faceplate toward the outer end of the bearing-box D and gradually inwardly 0 from below the bearing-box toward the point 2 of the said face or wall plate.
The essential feature of the presentdesign consists in a face or wall plate united toa V- shaped frame divided by a central plate or shelf into a double triangular frame, the faceplate having a forwardly-projecting shoulder and an inwardly-projecting flange, the whole supporting two parallel bearing-boxes in the same horizontal plane.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure protection in by Design Letters Patent, is-
The design for a bearing-bracket substantially as shown and described. 5
In testimony whereof I affix my signature, in the presence of witnesses, this 30th day of October, 1897.
ROBERT II. POSTIIETIIWAI'IE.
