ELECTRIC SWITCH BLADE.
No. 27,097. Patented May 25, 1897,
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
IVARREN S. I-IILL, OF HYDE PARK, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR AN ELECTRIC-SWITCH BLADE.
To a/Zlwhmn, it 771/041 cancern:
. Be it known that I, \VARREN S. HILL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Hyde Park, in the county of Norfolk and State of 5 Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and originalDesign for Blades for Electrio Switches, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, illustrating the same.
0 The drawing shows a perspective View of the blade of an electric switch embodying the design.
The leading feature of my design consists of a switch-blade having a recess in one end 5 thereof and in the other end an aperture and a narrow or reduced passage leading from the said aperture to the extremity of the blade.
Referring to the drawing by letter, A desa ignates the switch-blade, which is oblong in its general contour. It has a rounded end a,
which may also be square without departing from the spirit of the invention. In the blade near this rounded end is a recess a.
In the blade near the end b is an aperture Z) of an outline as shown in the drawing. From this aperture a narrow or reduced passage 19 leads through the end of the blade to the exterior of the same. The width of this passage is considerably less than the width of the aperture 1). Where the passage 13 leaves the aperture, the metal is shaped to form projections 19 19 Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for an electric-switch blade substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
