SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,240, dated November 3, 1896.
Application filed September 23,1896. Serial No. 606,786. Term of patent 7 years.
To 11/! whom, 1'15 may run/crux Be it known that I, lfinwanu A. lIAXHiIX resident of Canton, county of Stark, State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for Metallic teilingdlates, ot which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification.
The invention relates to a new design for metallic ceiling-plates; and it consists of a ceiling-plate of the form and ornaunnitation shown in the accompanying drawings, in which-- Figure 1 is a plan \'l()\\' of the eeiling-plale, and Fig. 2 is a sectional view.
The leading feature of the design is a plate A, square in outline, having at its center a raised semispherieal portion 1, from which radiate ribs 2, that are inclosed within a scalloped raised border 3, encircled by an annular rib l, which is inelosod within an abi, knobs or buttons 7, and scallops MAUI, a citizen of the United States, and a i l ruptly-raised portion 3, having annular ribs Surrounding the abruptly-raised. portion of the plate is the sunken portion, which is ornamented by the scrolls it), the leat-lilu} ligures ll, the triangular figures 12 at the corners, and the raised alternating ribs and buttons 11% and 14, respectively.
A ceiling-plate constructed and ornamented as above described and as shown in the accompanying drawings is both neat and attractive and greatly adds to the general appearance of the l'UOlll orhall in which it is used.
\Vhat I claim is- The design for a metallic ceiling-plate as herein shown and described.
