Patented June 11, 1895 [III/III!!! 1/: 1/11/11: I, IIIIII! INVENTOR @ZZZ UNITED STATES WILLIAM L. PIKE, OF
PATENT OFFICE.
GROTON, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A CHOPPlNG-KNIFE BLADE.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that- I, \VILLIAM L. PIKE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Groton, in the county of Tompkins and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Chopping-Knife Blades, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing a part thereof.
Figure I is a perspective View ofachoppingknife blade; and Fig. 2 a. vertical cross-section thereof, showing my design.
The leading features of my design consist in the peculiar configuration of the cutting edge which is formed of a series of scallops, and the shape of the main body of the blade, reduced in width toward the top and having the upper end as shown in the drawings at right angles with the main body of the blade.
In the drawingsA is the body of a chopping knife blade the main contour of the cutting edge of which is curved and the edge formed into a series of connected scallops. All of the said scallops are made of the same form and size, having the same curvature of outline.
The sides of the body of the blade from a to b are curved inwardlyand this reducesthe width of the blade to proper width for the projection B. The plane of this top B is at right angles with the plane of the body of the blade A. C, C, C, are the connected scallops on the cutting edge of the knife.
What I claim is The design for a chopping knife blade, herein described and shown.
