DESIGN.
W. F. OBYRNE. MORTISE LOCK CASE No. 23,779. Patented Nov. 6, 1894.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE,
\VILLIAM F. OBYRNE, OF ORANGE, NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A MORTlSE-LOCK CASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,779, dated November 6, 1894.
Application filed September 29, 1894. Serial No. 524.519. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM F. OBYRNE, a. citizen of the United States, residing at Orange, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and original Design for M ortise-Lock Cases, fully described and represented in the following specification and the accompanying drawing, forming a part of the same.
This design consists in the novel shape for a mortise-lock case illustrated in perspective in the annexed drawing.
The lock-case is formed with the body (1 having its sides fluted parallel with the upper and lower edges, which latter are rounded with the same curvature as the intermediate flutes. The edge-plate b is formed with scalloped edges, of which the scallops correspond in form with the flutes of the body but are greater in number; such plate having its ends rounded similarly to the body a, but projected beyond the upper and lower edges of the latter.
The lock is shown herein provided with the latch 0, bolt d, latch hub e and keyholef, in the usual manner.
The leading features of the present design are the fluted character of the body of the case with rounded upper and lower edges, and the corresponding outline of the edge-plate b.
Having thus set forth the nature of the design, what I claim herein, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a mortiselock case herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WILLIAM F. OBYRNE.
Witnesses:
