DESIGN FOR A STAlR-CARPET FASTENER.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,159, dated March 27, 1894.

Application filed February 28, 1894. Serial No. 501,878. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, JOHN DAY, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Stair-Carpet Fastener, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a new design for stair carpet fasteners and consists of a stair carpet fastener in the shape of a quadrant of an ovoid taken on the line of its axis of revolution, and having its surfaces corrugated 0r fluted with corrugations extending at an angle to such axis.

In the drawings,-Figure 1 is a side elevation of a stair carpet fastener embodying my design, and Fig. 2 is a central, vertical, longitndinal section therethrough.

A designates the stair carpet fastener, and a b the line of the axis of revolution.

0 represents an aperture for a nail or other securing means, and (Z are the corrugations or undulations extending, as shown, at an angle to the line of the axis of revolution.

\Vhat I claim is The design for a stair carpet fastener, substantially as herein shown and described.
