DESIGN FOR A PAPER-WEIGHT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,682, dated August 8, 1893.
Application filed June 12, 1893. Serial No. 477,376. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, \VILLIAM DORSAM and Lotus DORSAM, citizens of the United States, residing at Millville, in the county of Cunnberland and State of New Jersey, have invented a certain new and original Design for a Paper-\Veight; and we do hereby declare the following to he a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in theart to which it. appertains to make and use the same.
Our design is forthe ornamentation ofa paper weight, which is also adapted to be used as a tray to receive cigar ashes, matches,pins or the like when lying flat; or, when supported in an inclined position,to serve as an easel or as a mere ornament.
Our design is represented in the accompanying drawings, in Which- Figure 1 is a plan or face View of an article provided with our design, and Fig. 2isacross sectional view on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1.
The loading or characteristic feature of our design is the rim, a, of horseshoe-shape, and the central portion surrounded by the rim, and upon which and entirely within the rim a appears the representation of a horses head, I).
\Ve have shown aspread-eagle ornament, c, extending out beyond the rim, at that end which represents the toe of the horse-shoe; and we have also shown the ribbed legs (I, (I projecting from the rim opposite the calks of the shoe.
Vthat we claim is The herein described design for a paper weight substantially as shown and described.
