DESIGN FOR A LlNING-TILE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,077, dated December 20, 1892. Application filed November 19,1892. Serial No. 452.586. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern;
Be it known that we, CHARLES CURTIS, of Newton, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, and NATHANIEL M. J mess, of Bangor, in the county of lenobscot and State of Maine, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Lining-liles, of which the following is specification.
The leading feature of our design consists in a surface having, a reentrant curve atone side of the tile, and asurt'ace having a salient curve at the opposite side of the tile, the margin of each surface being offset from the margin of the other surface, so that the top and bottom edges of one surface will be higher than those of the other, while the side edges of one surface will be at one side of the side edges of the other surface.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification: Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a tile, showing our de' sign. Fig. 2 represents a vertical section of the same. Fig. 3 represents a horizontal section.
The same letters and numerals ofreferencc indicate the same parts in all the figures.
In the drawings: a represents the tile, having at its inner side a rc-cntrant curved surface 2,and at its opposite side a salient curved surface The top edge 4 and bottom edge 5 of the surface 2 are higherthan the top edge 6 and bottom edge 7 of the surface 3, while the side edges 8 .J of the surface 2 are offset from or arranged at one side of the side edges 10 12 of the surface 3.
