DESIGN FOR RUFFLING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,260, dated December 22, 1891. Application filed November 30, 1891. Serial No. 413,598. Term of patent Bl years.
.To a/ZZ whom may concern:
lle it known that I, CHARLES GREY HILL, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at Nottingham, in the county of Notting ham, England, haveinvented and produced a new and original Design forRuiTling, of which the following is a specication, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, formin e.r part thereof, in which- Figure l is a front elevation of the ruffiing embodying the features of the design, and Fig. 2 is a rear elevation thereof.
The principal feature of the design consists ot' the irregular ornamental figures A, arranged in longitudinal grouping, covering and appearing to extend above the edge of body figure B, simulating a strip of fabric. The ornaments A are located diagonally upon the body figure in contact with each other,
concealing the edge of the body latter is viewed from the front. The ornaments A, viewed separatel y in front elevation, are essentially conical in general contou r, and appear to curl at their upper ends and to stand our; from the body at their lower ends. Then viewed collectively, a spiral or wavelike effect isobtained. When the ornaments are viewed from the back, a decided spiral effect is visible, as a pronounced loop-like ligure is located at their upper ends.
