DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,192, dated December 1, 1891.

Application filed October 26, 1891- Serial No. 409,912. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ERSKINE J. S. VAN HOU- TEN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Nyack, Rockland county, and State of New York,have invented a new and original Design for Bottles, of which the following is aspecification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

Referring to the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a side elevation of a bottle formed according to my design, and Fig. 2 represents a top View of the same.

The leading feature of my design consists in a raised rib or collar located on the upper surface of the body or base of the bottle, encircling the base of the neck, as shown in the drawings.

A is the body or base of the bottle and is of a conical form, with its lower edges rounded, as shown in Fig. 1.

B is the neck, which rises from the apex or center of the base A a distance about equal to the height of said base. Upon the upper surface of the latter, near its top and adja cent to the base of the neck and encircling the latter, is located a raised circular rib or collar 0, the principal eifect of which, as located thereon, to the eye is to increase the size of said base, and consequently the bottle, and also present an ornamental appearance to the bottle.
