To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, (mount; ll. lhut'otk, a citizen of the United States. residing in Plainfleld, in the county of lfnion and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Roofing or Sheathing Tiles, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
The design relates to a clay or other tile in which the ornamental effects are produced by the outline of a tile by the surface ornamentation thereof and by the conjunction of the two.
The design consists of a tile, the outline of its lower sides beingformed by a series of corrugations orserrationsterminating in an irregular point; and it also consists in the surface ornamentation formed by a bordercomposed of two rope-like strands uniting at the end of the tile in a representation of a knot.

The design relates particularly to the exposed or lower face of a tile, the upper portion partaking of various shapes.
As illustrated, the tile is substantially of; diamond form, the two upper sides bearing upper flanges a b, and the twolowersides c d are made up of a seriesof small corrugations or serrations which terminate at the lower end of a serrated convex curve 0, a serrated downward projection f, and a serrated lateral projection g with rounded ends.
The surface 1' of the tile is substantially flat. The two lower sides are formed with a border of bead form, the surface of which is composed of a number of serrations transversely con uected and having the appearance of two strands of rope in conventional form. These two beaded borders unite at the lower end of the tile in the representation of aknot h, which are likewise serrated, as are the beaded borders. 'Jwo portionsof the knotare raised above the surface of the beaded border, and one of these portions is raised above the other, as shown.
