DESlGN FOR BACKS OF BRUSHES, MIRRORS, 800.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,429, dated December 23, 1890.
Application filed November 17, 1890. Serial No. 371,746- Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, AUSTIN F. JACKSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Taunton, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and originalDesign for Backs of Brushes, Mirrors, &c., of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying illustration, forming part thereof.
The figureis a photographic illustration of the back of a hair-brush or hand'rnirror einbodying my design.
My design for the back of a hair-brush or hand-mirror consists of a generally paddleshaped outline, with the sides a a of the wide portion fashioned into a roll of the contour of a crtss-how and with the top formed into a somewhat similar roll I). The central panel formed within these border-lines is ornamented with a thickly-matted mass of flowers and leavesc. The handle hasits sides formed with reversed curved lines and has inwardlyprojecting curved bulbous ornaments d.
The leading feature of my design is the thickly-matted mass of flowers and leaves 0, with the marginal rolls a and b, the handle portion being subordinate and non-essential.
What I claim is The design for the backs of brushes, handmirrors, &e., as herein shown and described.
