DESIGN FOR THE EXTERIOR OF A HOUSE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,087, dated August 12, 1890. Application filed July 15, I890. Serial No. 358,860- Term of patent 7 years- To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ANTOINE LACROIX,J1., of the city of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Exterior of a House, of which the followingis a specification, companyin g drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 represents a perspective View of a house showing my design. Fig. 2 represents a horizontal section or plan of the first story. Fig. 3 represents a horizontal section or plan of the second story.
Similar letters of reference designate corresponding parts in all the figures.
A house of this design consists of two stories and an attic third story within a gable roof, and has an L-shaped extension projecting rearwardly, a portion of which at the first story being wider than that at the second story, such portion being covered by a sloping roof, an octagonal bay in the front thereof, the roof of which at the second story forms the floor of a balcony at the third story, and a peaked roof surniounting the whole, a ve randa extending along a portion of one side of the house, round the front thereof, and terminating on the opposite side at the point where the extension joins the main portion of the house, said veranda being covered by a sloping roof, all as hereinafter to be more particularly described with reference to the drawin s.

At the rear of the house is an L-shapcd extension E F, the portion E having abay Gr at the first story, a flat-faced portion G at the second story, and a third or attic story contained in the gable roof g. The other portion F of the extension is wider at the first story than at the second, the said widerportion being covered by a sloping roof f. An additional portion 11 also projects from the rear at the first story.
A veranda 1 extends from about the middle of one side of the main portion of the house along the front thereof and terminates on the opposite side at the angle formed by the junction of the portion E of the extension. The portion I of the veranda is covered by a sloping roof '1', and is finished on the front by a gable k, surinounting an entrance-porch K. The portion J is surmounted by a sloping roof j.
