SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18.721, dated November 6. 1888.
Application filed August 28, 1888. Sei-inl No. 284,022. Term ol'pntcnt 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, CHARLES STANFORD UP- 'I0N, acitizcn of the United States, residing at New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Gas-Burners, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing,- forming a part thereof, which drawing represents my design in perspective.`
The design consists in a cylindrical body,1, surrounded by ashorter cylindrical part, 2,0r chimney-support projecting ont beyond the part 1. A flat horizontal portion, 3, unites thc portion 2 with a {fusto-conical perforated plate or screen, 4, above which rises a cylindrical perforated thirnble, 5. arranged on the bottom of the cylindrical portion 1 and between the latter and the outwardly-projecting portion 2.
Beads 67 are The leading feature of my design consists in i the shape of the `gas-burner, comprising the cylindrical part 1,the chinmeysupport 2, projecting outover it, the inclined partei over the L chimney-support, and the cylindrical part 5 oversuch inclined or frustoconical portion; also, in the surface ornamentation, which consists in the perforations in the partsl, 4, and 5.
What I claim is- Adesign for a gasburner, comprising the cylindrical part 1, the chimneysnpport 2,1)10- jecting out over it, inclined part 4 over the l chimneysupport, and the cylindrical part 5 i over such inclined p'ortion, the parts 1, 4, and
E 5 having surface ornamentations consisting of 35 I perforations, as described and shown.
