DESIGN FOR THE ORNAMENTATION OF SPOON-HANDLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No..18,169, dated March 6, 1888. Application filed Janunny 3i, 1888. Serial No. 262,58. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EDWARD T. SCHOON- MAKER, a citizen of the United States, residing atNew York, in the county of New York and State ofNew York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Spoon- Handles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exactdescription of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art towhich it appertai ns to make and use the same.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing,which is an elevation of a spoon the handle whereof is designed in accordancewith my invention.
The leading l'eatnlreot' mydesign consists in the representation of a bulb at the base of the handle withfa stern projecting therefrom and extending throughout the length of the bandie, and petals or leaves extending from each side of said. stem.
A is the handle, B the bulb, C the stem, and D the petals. I have shown aseries of beads, E, throughout the length of the stem.
I claim The design for the ornamentation of spoonhandles and the like herein shown and de scribed, consisting in the representation of a stem projecting from the base of the handle throughout the length of the latter, said stem 0 having a beaded surface and a series of petals or leaves extending laterally from each side of said Stem, substantially as illustrated and described.
