DESIGN FOR A TUREEN-HANDLE.
SPICIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16,630, dated April 20, 1886.

Be it known that I, J AMES H. ALEXANDER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the County of Philadelphia and State ofPennsylvania, have inventcd a certain new and useful Design for Tnreen Handles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, reference being had to the accompany- IO ing drawiugs, Which form part of this specifi` cation, in which Figure 1 is a plan View of the handle complete. Fig. 2 is a rear elevation of hand-bar, and Fig. 3 is a Vertical transverse section of I 5 hand-bar.
" My design for a tnreen handle relates to the hand-bar and the ear thereof; and it consists in the ornamental configuration of outline and snrface, as hereinafter described and specific' ally claimed.
Referring to the accompanying drawings,A represents the handbar, and B the ear Or bracket, the hand-bar having curved extensions or pendants G C, which Connect it with the part B. The hand-bar is of pecnliar confignration, having two inclined Sides, ac',and a curved bottom, a, so that in Cross-section or in end View it is triangular, the two sides a 0b' being straight and the bottom a? cnrved. The
0 ornamentation of the side ,which is the outer side, consists of two parallel edge lines, d (l between and tonching which is a ZigZag line, e. The snrface On'WhCh the zigzag line is formed has Vertical milled lines f, and in each bend of the zigzag line there is a dot Or circle, g. The ornamentation of the side a' consists of two parallel edge lines, h h, the Snrface between the same being snnken and having milled Vertical lines z' traversed by a tWo-branched Vine ortendrilsJk. The brack- 0 et has a marginal line, l, and the surface or space m inside this line is snnken and Stippled. On this stippled surface are three Curled or looped lines, n n and o, one for each of the riVet-holes p 1) p, Which said lines encircle.
What I claim is- The design herein described and shown, the same consisting Ot' a combined tnreen handle and ear,-the hand-bar of the handle having parallel edge lines, a milled snnken surface 50 upon Which are a ZigZag ridge andintercalated dots or circles, as shown.
