DESIGN FOR A BANNER-ROD.
,PECIPICA'I'ION forming part of Design No. 16,616, dated April 13, 1886.
Application filed August 5. 1895. Serial No. 173,659. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE R. OSBORN, a. citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Banner-Rods; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a. part thereof.
The leading feature of my design for a banner-rod consists of a conventional imitation of a straight twig with slantingly-outends. The entire surface of the banner-rod, except the ends, is ornamented by a conventional imitation of bark. Conventional imitations of knots a and leaf-sears b also occur here and there on the surface of the ban her-rod, shown in the annexed drawing. The ends of the rod are slanting or diagonal, as shown. The banner-rod thus ornamented presents to the eye measurably the effect of a twig with the bark on. The suspension-chain of the banner-rod isin keeping with the general design.
I claim- The design for a banner-rod herein shown and described, the same consisting of a conventional imitation of a straight twig with the bark on and slantingly-ent ends.
