WITNESSES INVENTOR I J Yu fl a 0 BY 3 ATTORNEYS.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE SAMUEL STEINEOKE, OF BROOKLYN, ASSIGNOR TO CHRISTIAN A. SOHMIDTT, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR FRINGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,841, dated April 3, 1883.
Application filed February 13, 1883. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL STEINECKE, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and improved Design for Fringe, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
Figure 1 is a front view of my design; and Figs. 2 and 3 are cross-sections of the pendants on lines a: w and y 3 respectively, of Fig. 1.
The leading feature of my design consists in the pendants tapered from their centers toward their ends and the triangular pendants intermingled and having tufts at their ends.
A B represent pendants suspended from a suitable head, 0, and which have tufts D at their upper and lower ends. The pendants .A are made with a swell at their middle parts or gradually taper from their centers toward their ends. The pendants B are made of triangular form, and usually have gilt or colored threads extended longitudinally along the centers of their sides. The pendants A B are intermingled either by being arranged alternately, as shown in the drawings, or by being arranged with two or more of one kind alternating with one or more of the other kind.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for fringe herein shown and de scribed, the same consisting of the pendants A, tapered from their centers toward their ends, and the triangular pendants B, intermingled and having tufts at their ends.
