Description

BEST AVAILABLE COFW UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ISAAC PNTURNER, OF TROY, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO JOHN H. COLBY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR INTERIOR FORM OF CUFF-BOX.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,655, dated. January 3, 1882. Application filed November 18, 1881. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, IsAAo I. TURNER, of the city of Troy, county of Rensselaer, and State of New York, have invented a Design of a New and Useful Form for the Interiorot'a (luff-Box, and of which, taken in connection with the annexed photograph, the following is a specification.
My invention relates to the internal form and configuration of that portion of a cuff-box which is exposed to view when the cover is removed to show the cults or to take them from the box.
My invention of a design consists, as shown in the annexed photograph, of the combined horizontal and vertical form of the two inclosures A and B, which are rectilinear horizontally, and their tops have their end walls bow elcd, so that one of the sides of eat-h inclosure is higher than the other, and theends ot'caeh inclosure are beveledoif oppositely to the ends of the'oth'er, so that the higher side of each inclosure will be upon the same side of the box as the lower side of the other.
The letters 0 O designate the end walls of the inclosure A, and 0 0 the end walls of the inclosure B.
D designates the highest side of the inclosureA and D its lower side, and E the higher side of the inclosure Baud E its lower side, the relative form of these oppositely-placed bevels and the location of them with reference to each other producing the configuration and form ot'the top of the cufit interior.
I am well aware that cult-boxes have been made that were cut angularly inwardly and downwardly toward the center of the box from the ends, with the lower boundary of each inclosure in contact at the center of the box.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The des'gn for the form and configuration of a cuff-box interior, consisting of the two rectilinear inelosures Aand B, each having'sloping ends, so as to make one side of each inclosure higher than the other, and the two inelosures arranged with reference to each other to form the box interior, so that the higher sideof one inclosure and the lower sideof the other shall be upon each and the same side of the box, as shown and described.
Signed at Troy, New York, this 10th day of November, 1881.
ISAAC P. TURNER.
